چکیده

This paper presents a fixed-frequency self-oscillating high-power-factor electronic ballast supplying four independent lamps. The fixed-frequency self-oscillating driver is achieved adding a LC series filter supplying a small resistor. The primary winding of the self-oscillating transformer is the series inductor of the filter. So, if one or more lamps are damaged, the switching frequency will not change. To achieve the power-factor-correction, it is used a passive method, based on a modified valley-fill filter. In order to prove the proposed idea, it is shown the simulation and experimental results of the self-oscillating electronic ballast supplying four independent lamps. Key-Words: Multi-Lamp, High Power Factor, and Self-Oscillating.

Automatic Luminous Control for Self-Oscillating Electronic Ballast

This paper presents a simple alternative of automatic luminous control for electronic ballasts operating in selfsustained oscillating mode feeding fluorescent lamps to energy saving. The luminous flux level control is based on a signal from a lighting dependent resistor, which measures the luminous flux level. The dimming feature is obtained using switching frequency variation. Thus, the circui...

A Self-Oscillating Drive for Single-Stage Charge-Pump Power-Factor-Correction Electronic Ballast with Frequency Modulation

=AbstractSingle-stage current-source charge-pump powerfactor-correction (SS CS-CPPFC) electronic ballast employs charge-pump concept to obtain high power factor with low cost. However, the circuit has a poor lamp current crest factor and large lamp output power variation, which deteriorates the lamp life. Feed-forward and/or feedback circuit are usually used to deal with these problems at the p...

Steady-state analysis and simulation of a BJT self-oscillating ZVS-CV ballast driven by a saturable transformer

The steady-state oscillation of a zero-voltageswitching clamped-voltage self-oscillating ballast driven by a saturable transformer is analyzed and simulated. Its selfoscillating operation is divided into six stages according to the hysteresis B–H loop of saturable transformer cores. Stage-wise circuit analysis shows the saturable transformer limits the lamp current and dominates the switching f...
